Abdul Hameed Hamidi

To pick just one player from Pakistan Hockey for a list of selected athletes from a span of 70 years is a difficult task. However, the most remarkable achievement of Pakistan Hockey was the silver medal in 1956 Melbourne Olympics and a Gold medal in 1960’s Rome Olympics. Both of these came under the skillful leadership of Hamid Hameedi, who led the team from the front and played a significant role to help Pakistan win these prestigious medals.
